Taxis are a PDA black hole?

In 6 months, tens of thousands of digital devices have been left behind in taxis according to a nine-nation survey of leading taxi companies in Australia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Great Britain, and the U.S. One Chicago firm reported that 85,619 mobile phones and 21,460 PDAs/Pocket PCs had been forgotten!

As a result, Pointsec, a security firm, is recommending that the password and encryption capabilities available on the recent crop of high-memory mobile smartphones should be enabled to protect any sensitive information stored on them.

If there is a silver lining to the story, it is that on average of 80% of mobile phones and 96% of PDAs make their way back to their respective owners.
