Microsoft and Vodafone announce partnership

Vodafone and Microsoft have announced a new partnership to develop new services on mobile phones. The two companies will ensure that Vodafone applications integrate with Windows Mobile and should reduce the time to market for new products and services.

Vodafone’s strategy is to focus on three standard terminal platforms across its portfolio of mobile phones: Microsoft Windows Mobile, Symbian/S60 and Linux.

The first product of this new partnership will be a Samsung device expected in the first half of 2007.
