New HTC devices coming in second quarter 2008

Details are slim but HTC CFO Huei-ming Cheng revealed that HTC will release some new devices in the second quarter of 2008. The announcement was made during an online investors conference where he indicated that the company expects revenues to grow between 20 and 30 percent in 2008 (over 2007).

The new products will differentiate from the current Touch-series lineup, focusing on models supporting the 3G standard initially and then followed by EDGE-compliant models for emerging markets, Cheng indicated.

During the call, Cheng also revealed that HTC shipped 9.92 million units in 2007, just short of the target of 10 million it had set for itself.
