According to Eric Schmidt, Google’s Executive Chairman, has indicated that the next version of Google Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, will be released in the in October/November timeframe. Schmidt’s comments occur at the 30:25 mark in the video below:
Ice Cream Sandwich is expected to unify the current Gingerbread and Honeycomb code forks back into a single code base. The first device to sport Ice Cream Sandwich is expected to be the Google Nexus Prime to be manufactured by Samsung.
