Android 4.0 coming to Google Nexus S in “next few weeks”?

Google Nexus SThere may be some good news for Nexus S owners still waiting for their promised Android 4.0 upgrades. Engadget is today reporting that one of their “trusted sources” has confirmed that the official Android 4.0 update is expected “to drop in the next few weeks.” Both the 9020A and 9020T (AWS) versions of the software are expected.

Google had originally promised to released the Nexus S Android 4.0 update only weeks after the release of the Galaxy Nexus. It did start to push the update out in December but quickly stopped after reports began to came in about battery issues. Since then, there has been little information from Google about when it would resume the updates for the device.

It remains to be seen if the update will consist of the current 4.0.3 base version or if it will sport a newer version.
