Google stops selling Galaxy Nexus on Google Play Store

With Samsung having lost its appeal to lift a pre-trial injunction banning sales of the Galaxy Nexus in the U.S., Google has stopped taking orders for the Galaxy Nexus on Google Play. The buy button has been replaced with a note that says “coming soon” and customers can sign up to be notified when it goes back on sale. When it goes back on sale, it will do so with Android 4.1. If so, it may not be available until mid-July at the earliest.

Samsung and Google are also working on a patch to update the Galaxy Nexus and remove functionality covered by Apple’s universal search patent.
