HTC dlx flagship smartphone with 1080p display gets benchmarked

A new HTC tablet codenamed Vertex is not the only new HTC device to be spotted on a benchmark site in the last few days. A new HTC smartphone has surfaced on GLBenchmarks and its specifications are sure to impress. Codenamed dlx, it bears model number HTC6435LVW, suggesting that it could be a follow up to the HTC Rezound (model HTC6425).

The site reports that the HTC dlx will use a Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 chipset but results are significantly higher than what we have seen achieved with this chipset in the past. Droid-Life suggests instead that this could be the faster MSM8960T chipset with Adreno 320GPU. The HTC dlx scores substantially higher than the Qualcomm chipset HTC one X variant:

The benchmark results also reveal the presence of a 1080p HD display and Android 4.0.4. The ‘android.os.Build.FINGERPRINT’ suggests it is headed to Verizon.

Together all this evidence lines up nicely with earlier rumours which suggested that Verizon would offer a new flagship device later this year bearing a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 320 GPU, a 5-inch 1080p HD non-Pentile display, HTC Sense 5 and a Scribe pen.
