Sony Mobile Communications today announced the next phase of its Android 4.0 update rollout. Having started with the Xperia Ray, Xperia Arc S and Xperia Neo V, the upgrade is now being pushed out to the rest of its 2011 phones. Now in line are the Xperia Arc, Xperia Neo, Xperia Mini, Xperia Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, Xperia active and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman.All will receive Android 4.0.4 with kernel 2.6.32.
The rollout will be done by SI numbers. Keep an eye on the Talk Sony Mobile forums to see when the update will hit your specific SI. There is no word yet from Canadian carriers on updates from their side for devices that made it here.
This update is also being pushed out to the Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray which had previously received Android 4.0.3. The Xperia S is scheduled for its update in late June. As previously reported, the Sony Xperia Play will remain on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
