LG-D821 (Google Nexus 5?) gets Bluetooth certification (again)

At this point, it appears quite likely that the LG-D821 and the Google Nexus 5 are one and the same. If so, the next Nexus smartphone is one step closer to a launch today after receiving its Bluetooth certification. In fact, this appears to be an amended entry as certification was first obtained back in September.

It’s not clear why the certification was amended but it could be due to some design changes made between the two filings. As usual, the Bluetooth SIG filing reveals little about the device except to confirm that it will have Bluetooth 4.0.

October Bluetooth SIG certification for LG D821

The Google Nexus 5 is expected to come with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, Android 4.4, a 4.95-inch Full HD (1080×1920) display, 2GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera with OIS, a 1.3MP front camera and LTE connectivity. It could sell for as low as US$299 with 16GB of onboard storage and a 2,300mAh battery. A second model with 32GB of onboard storage and a larger 3,000mAh battery could be offered for US$399.

Just yesterday, a report surfaced suggesting that Google could unveil the Google Nexus 5 along with Android 4.4 KitKat as early as next week.
