Moto X Developer Edition coming soon

Moto X Developer Edition

Motorola has updated its website’s “Buy Moto X” page with the upcoming Moto X Developer Edition. It promises that it is “coming soon.” It might well be as Punit Soni, Motorola’s VP of Product Management, took to Google+ earlier to say that it would be “rolling out in days.”

The website shows it sporting a Woven White backplate with the words “DEVELOPER EDITION” engraved at the bottom and black front plate but the text promises that “Moto X Developer Edition will have a look all its own.” What that could entail exactly remains a mystery at this point.

The Moto X Developer Edition will also come with 32GB of onboard storage and an unlocked bootloader. It will otherwise be no different than the carrier version.

Motorola warns that “unlocking your DEVELOPER EDITION’s bootloader voids all warranties and may cause serious harm to your device. Make sure you understand what this means.”

Pricing was unannounced but it is unlikely to sell for less than the locked versions do (CA$549.99 with Rogers Wireless and US$629.99 with AT&T)
