Nokia readying Sirius 10.1-inch Windows RT tablet

Rumoured Nokia SiriusA couple of Nokia rumours have come together today. On one side is the rumour that Nokia was readying a Windows RT tablet. On the other side was a recent list of codenames for upcoming Nokia devices. Among these was the Siruis (Sirius without the typo?). According to The Verge, this upcoming Windows RT tablet is none other than the Sirius.

According to the report, the Nokia Sirius will come with a 10.1-inch Full HD (1080×1920) display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, LTE connectivity, 32GB of onboard storage with a microSD card slot for further storage, a 6MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera, a micro-HDMI connector and a micro-USB port. Like the Lumia smartphones, it will come with a coloured case and will share many of their design characteristics as well. It is also expected to be thinner and lighter than the current Apple iPad.

Nokia is also planning a number of accessories including an add-on keyboard that will also have an additional battery.

Nokia will reportedly host an event on September 26th in New York City to unveil its new Windows RT tablet possibly along with the 6-inch Nokia Bandit phablet. Pricing is expected to be on par with the Apple iPad. It could launch with both AT&T and Verizon in the U.S. (and hopefully a few carriers here in Canada).
