Press render of Motorola Moto G leaked ahead of launch

Rumoured Moto G press renderMotorola will unveil the Moto G on November 13 in a livestreamed event from Sao Paulo, Brazil. While Motorola has yet to reveal exactly what the Moto G is, rumours have suggested that it will be a cheaper variant of the Moto X. A leaked press render obtained by the usually reliable @evleaks now lends further credence to this theory.

While there are no details to go with the tweet, the image itself effectively confirms that the Moto G is headed to the U.S. courtesy of Verizon. It also confirms that it will be available in a number of colours, likely through a selection of backplates.

As for specifications, past rumours have given us the following:

  • Processor: 1.5GHz (or 1.2GHz) quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro
  • Operating system: Google Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
  • Cellular connectivity: Quad-band HSPA+
  • Other connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0
  • Display: 4.7- or 4.5-inch HD (720×1280)
  • Internal storage: 8GB/16GB
  • Rear-facing camera: 5MP
  • Front-facing camera: 1.3MP
  • Battery: 1,950mAh

We’re hoping that it will come with the Moto X’s Touchless Control, Active Display which turns on portions of the display for notifications and Quick Capture but that remains to be seen..

We also expect the Moto G to land in Canada and will bring you full details on November 13.
