Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch concept video

Samsung Galaxy Gear concept by T3

Samsung is widely expected to unveil its Galaxy Gear smartwatch alongside the Galaxy Note III at its upcoming Unpacked 2013 Episode 2 event on September 4th. Ahead of the event, we’ve already seen one concept of what the device will look like. Now, UK’s T3 has put together a video showcasing their own concept:

We decided that September 4th was just too long to wait, so we’ve been busy putting together our own 3D render of what we reckon the Galaxy Gear will look like.

The video shows off a truly flexible display that goes from a 2-inch “watch mode” to a larger 3.5-inch active “extended screen” when the watch is rolled flat. The watch also promises a scaled down version of Google Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with customized apps and functions such as S Health and Facebook integration, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC, four days of battery life and micro-USB charging.

It’s unlikely that despite some impressive if unvalidated specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Gear that is officially unveiled can live up to this concept. But give it a few years and it will be a completely story.

What do you think of this latest concept Galaxy Gear smartwatch? Any takers out there?
