More delays for Pressy “Almighty Android Button?”

Pressy button

The last we posted about the Pressy “Almighty Android Button” things were looking up. Shipments were set to start in late April. It’s now almost mid-May and, judging by recent comments left on the project’s web page, no one has received a shipment notification yet. While there have been no official updates since April 28, Nimrod Black, one of the project’s founders, yesterday provided an update via the comments. In short, it would appear that the Pressy team has run into more delays.

We are sorry for the lack of communication lately. We are overwhelmed with delivery issues, which unfortunately are not going smooth.
We will provide a full update in the next few days where we will explain the situation in full detail.
Please believe us that we are doing our best to make sure you will get the best product possible, as fast as you can.

Unfortunately, it’s not clear what the delivery issues are. Let’s hope that the team does provide a “full update” in the next few days to shed light on what is going on and when the project’s backers can expect to receive their Pressy buttons.

A separate comment suggests that the issue may have less to do with the product itself than legal issues around the recent appearance of very similar products (selling for significantly less). Assuming the response is legitimate, the part that reads “we are NOT frauds” may be a sign that the Pressy team itself has run afoul of someone else’s patent.

We’ll have to see what the next few days bring.
