HTC M8 specifications leaked again?

Rumoured HTC M8

The next HTC flagship smartphone is again the topic of rumour. Known only as the HTC M8 (or the HTC 0P6B120), its alleged specifications have been leaked again. The usually reliable @evleaks suggests that it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor (MSM8974) and Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.0. It will also come with a 5-inch Full HD (1080×1920) display, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, 2GB of RAM, an UltraPixel rear camera and a 2.1MP front camera.

These latest details line up with those of earlier rumours, adding further credibility to all of these rumours.

These specifications suggest that the HTC M8, which could launch as the HTC One 2, will be a modest evolution over this year’s flagship HTC One. A better processor and a slightly larger display look to be the key differences. HTC may find its latest flagship outclassed as rumours point to octa-core processors and higher resolution displays making their way into competing flagship smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S5. If so, HTC could find 2014 to be as difficult a year as 2013 proved to be.

HTC is expected to announce the HTC M8 in the coming weeks. It may do so at MWC 2013 or just ahead of that event as it did last year with the HTC One.
