Moto X+1 shows up in a protective case (Updated)

Rumoured Moto X+1Rumours about the Moto X+1 continue to gather steam. A new image has popped up courtesy of the usually reliable @evleaks and it gives us a clear look at both the front and back of the device, albeit inside a case that obscures much of its design. As a result, the image reveals precious little new information.

It appears that the Moto X+1 will not be a huge departure from its predecessor, the Moto X, in terms of looks. It does appear that the display will be a higher resolution Full HD (1080×1920) one though. The camera on the back appears to have a larger sensor and the flash has either disappeared or been incorporated into the ring around the camera.

Recent reports have suggested that there could be two Moto X+1 variants, one with and one without a microSD card slot. The display is expected to be a slightly larger 5-inch one. It could also come with 25 different backplate options through MotoMaker, including wooden ones and new leather ones.

The Moto X+1 has made several accidental appearances on the MotoMaker website in the past, apparently confirming its name. One of these suggested that it would be headed to all four major U.S. carriers.

As with other rumours, take this one with a healthy pinch of salt if only because this image does not match up with an earlier one. It all makes for lot of conflicting information swirling about. With an expected launch later this summer, let’s hope that other leaks give us a better look at this device sooner than later.

Update: A second tweet from @evleaks has revealed that the Moto X+1, identified here as the Motorola Victara, is hiding away in a DualPro Case by Incipio. It gives us a rough idea of the size of the Moto X+1 as the case itself measures 133.35 by 70.36 by 13.72 millimeters. Given, that the original Moto X measures 129.3 by 65.3 by 10.4 millimeters, it appears that it will not be much larger than the Moto X despite the expected larger display.
