Nokia X name reconfirmed by latest image

Rumoured Nokia XNokia’s social pages all went green a few days back. The move was widely seen as a hint about an upcoming Android announcement. Given how often the Nokia Normandy has been the topic of rumours in recent weeks, it was not a huge leap to suggest that it was just another hint that Nokia was getting ready to announce its first Android device. Another rendering has now surfaced, again courtesy of the usually reliable @evleaks. It reconfirms what we have seen in previous images as well as the Nokia X name. And the image once again puts the colour green to work.

At this point, it will be quite a surprise if Nokia does not unveil the Nokia X at its February 24 MWC 2014 press event.

The Nokia X is expected to launch in emerging markets where it could sell for as low as between CA$115 to CA$130. For that price, users would get a smartphone running a forked version of Google Android (without Google Mobile services and apps), a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, a 4-inch FWVGA (480×854/~285PPI), 512MB of RAM, 4GB of onboard storage and a 5MP rear camera.

Recent rumours also hinted that the Nokia X could be the first of a range of Android-powered Nokia smartphones that might even include some higher-end models.
