Is this the NVIDIA Shield Tablet?

Rumoured NVIDIA Shield TabletFollowing rumours that NVIDIA was readying a followup to last year’s NVIDIA SHIELD gaming console comes an image of what this successor could look like. Giving credence to that earlier report, the device revealed by the usually reliable @evleaks is not a portable console but a SHIELD tablet.

In fact, rumours of a NVIDIA TEGRA K1-powered tablet surfaced in May and even further back to January. The device, codenamed Mocha, was revealed on the GFXBench website as a 7.9-inch tablet sporting a resolution of 2048 by 1536 pixels and 2GB of RAM.

It is still possible that there are two new devices coming though. Other benchmarks have suggested a device with 4GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with a microSDXC card slot for additional storage and a 0.3MP rear camera. It also comes with a display with a resolution of 1440 by 810 pixels (but size unknown) and a TEGRA K1 processor. Such a scenario is quite plausible given that NVIDIA has offered both the SHIELD and the NVIDIA Note 7 tablet in the past.

A third possibility is that the the tablet itself could be offered alongside a gaming controller type of sleeve or wireless accessory for those times when such controls are still the preferred controller.

With a rumoured launch coming as early as July 22, all could be revealed quite soon.
