The time for teasers is over; Fossil today formally unveiled its Fossil Q line of wearables. Billed as a “line of fashionable connected accessories that showcase the design excellence, expert craftsmanship and bit of whimsy that defines Fossil,” a total of four different devices will be available along with a companion app.
“Our customers are obsessed with their personal sense of style and staying connected, and we are thrilled to enter into this emerging category with an answer to their needs,” said Jill Elliott-Sones, chief creative officer at Fossil. “Fossil Q is the result of countless hours of meticulous design expressed through a playful curious lens. Our hope is the unique attention to detail in both our connected accessories line and app cue our audience to try new things, be more curious and experience the world around them like never before.”
The Fossil Q Founder is a smartwatch with a round display powered by Android Wear and an Intel processor. As such, it comes with all the functionality you would expect from a connected device powered by Google’s wearables operating system. It will be available in time for the holiday shopping season with pricing starting at US$275.
The Fossil Q Grant is a “smarter watch.” The analog watch has been enhanced with connected capabilities, allowing it to communicate with your smartphone via Bluetooth to provide customized notification using both LED and vibration alerts. The Q Grant will be available on October 25 with pricing starting at about US$175.
The Fossil Q line is completed with two connected bracelets, the Q Reveler and Q Dreamer. Both will offer fitness tracking and notification capabilities but differ in styling. For example, the Q Dreamer will be customizeable with leather and silicone band options. Both will sell for US$125 and be available starting on October 25th.
