Samsung teased new watch faces featuring Peanuts characters for its Samsung Gear S2 in early January. The company yesterday tweeted that Snoopy watch faces are now available through Samsung’s Gear Apps store.
The watch faces are fairly simple, displaying only the time. Based on Samsung Mobile’s video promoting them, at least one of them will change over the day with the sky lightening and darkening based on the time of day.
The new watch faces are part of Samsung’s effort to grow the app ecosystem for its Tizen-powered smartwatches. Apple offers more than 10,000 apps for the Apple Watch while Google’s Android Wear is supported by more than 4,000.
It remains to be seen if we will see other Peanuts characters get their own watch face in the future.
