Android 3.1 update coming to Canada’s Motorola XOOM in “next couple of months”

We know you are eager to update to Android 3.1 software. We are working with Google to make this happen as quickly as possible. When we have more details, we will post them. Our best estimate is that it will be available in the next couple of months.

With the US updates coming within weeks (and having started for Verizon owners), it’s not clear why the Canadian update could take longer, especially as there is no carrier testing required for the Wi-Fi-only models.

  1. i was a fool purchasing the Motorola xoom tablet, there is no micro SD support, the movies are really slow there is no player for the HD movie format. The android honey comb 3.0.1 hangs and force closing all the time. The update which suppose to fix all the bugs was only released in USA, and I was left aside being Canadian and not getting the upgrade. I need a refund for this supposedly wanna be “iPad Killer”. Ended up paying 700 for an expensive piece of crap !

  2. Got tired of waiting. Unlocked using fastboot and now have a 3.1 us xoom.
