While we’re on the topic of TV ads, Apple has launched its first TV ad for the iPhone 5C. Called “Plastic Perfected,” it highlights the colourful shades in which the new iPhone comes. It also does not shy away from the fact that it is made of plastic (hard coated polycarbonate in fact).

Pre-orders for the iPhone 5C began last Friday. In a surprising move, Apple has yet to announce first day pre-order numbers, something it has done regularly in the past. Thia has led to conjecture that numbers may not be as high as they have been in the past.
The iPhone 5C will go on sale on September 20th along with the iPhone 5S which is not available for pre-order possibly due to a manufacturing challenge with the new fingerprint scanner.
