BlackBerry is expected to launch BBM for Android and the iPhone before the end of summer and based on temperatures in Toronto this morning, summer is definitely on its way out. In anticipation of the launch, BlackBerry yesterday ran a very short ad during The Amazing Race Canada.
At three seconds, the video reveals little except to promise “BBM for all” with Android and iPhone versions “coming soon.”

With the end of summer only days away now, we can expect a formal announcement any moment now. BlackBerry also yesterday denied rumours that a device manufacturer, namely Samsung, would have exclusivity for three months. According to Victoria Berry, BBM Communications Director at BlackBerry, “The excitement around the upcoming BBM launch on iPhone and Android devices seems to know no bounds. Although I’m a big fan of this passion, I want to clarify that no one will have an exclusive on offering BBM. We’ll be bringing the app to Android and iPhone users across the globe soon.”
