BlackBerry A10 scheduled for release in 2013

BlackBerry A10

BlackBerry A10 Concept

We reported about a month ago that BlackBerry planned to launch approximately five or six devices during 2013. We have already seen the Z10, Q10, and the Q5 was recently announced, so that leaves a couple more devices yet to come.

Thanks to “multiple trusted sources” at BGR, BlackBerry will release two more devices during 2013, the full touchscreen BlackBerry A10 (code named Aristo) and BlackBerry 9720 with a physical keyboard.

The A10 will position itself as the most advanced BlackBerry to date, with emphasis on power and gaming. It will feature a 5-inch Super AMOLED screen, 2GB of RAM and a dual-core processor. It appears that BlackBerry may have had difficulty jumping to a quad-core processor due to battery life issues and/or conflicts with BlackBerry 10 OS. The A10 will also sport separate CPU and GPU processors.

The report adds that the BlackBerry A10 resembles a Galaxy S4, only a little larger, but with more rounded corners than the current BlackBerry Z10. We can expect it to launch late this fall in time for the holiday season. It would supplant the flagship Z10, moving the latter to the mid-range.

Let us know in the comments if this is finally the BlackBerry device you have been waiting for!
