Former Mobilicity President Stewart Lyons named TeraGo CEO

TeraGoStewart Lyons, the former President and COO of beleaguered carrier Mobilicity, was yesterday named president and CEO of TeraGo. He will assume the position on January 16, 2014.

“We are thrilled to appoint Stewart Lyons, an executive with deep expertise in leading entrepreneurial telecommunications businesses, as TeraGo’s CEO”, said Charles Allen, Chairman, in the announcement. “His comprehensive skill set and track record, including strategy formation and execution, building sales and marketing and operations management teams, as well as knowledge of finance and regulatory, make him the ideal dynamic executive to lead TeraGo forward.”

Lyons left Mobilicity at the end of October. He replaces Bryan Boyd who resigned as President and Chief Executive Officer, back in mid-November.

TeraGo Networks provides carrier-grade broadband, data and voice communications services as well as colocation and disaster recovery solutions through its Data Centers Canada division.

As for Mobilicity, we are still waiting to find out the outcome of its auction held back in December. It remains under creditor protection until late February 2014.
