More Verizon DROID Turbo images surface online

Rumoured Verizon DROID TurboIt would appear that @evleaks is finding retiring tougher to do than expected. Following last week’s Google Nexus 6 reveal, he’s back today with two images of the DROID Turbo, part of the new 2014 Verizon DROID lineup. It’s the same device that Motorola (accidentally?) revealed last week. The first image gives us a both front and back views and shows us both the black and red versions. The second one gives us a profile shot.

No new hardware details accompany the images but @evleaks tells us that “These actually are the Droids you’re looking for.” With past rumours hinting that a new DROID might launch in conjunction with a new Star Wars promotion, maybe we’ll see this famed Star Wars line again in an upcoming advertising campaign.

A leaked user manual revealed that the DROID Turbo will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, a near-stock version of Android (with suite of Motorola apps that should include Moto Voice, Moto Display and Moto Connect), a 5.2-inch “ultra high-definition display,”3GB of RAM, a 21MP rear camera, Qi wireless charging, support for Motorola’s Turbo Charger and a “high-capacity long lasting battery,” perhaps as high as 3,900mAh.

Previous rumours have also suggested three new DROIDs will be unveiled. If so, the DROID Turbo could be joined by a new DROID and a new DROID Maxx in the very near future. The recent leaks suggest that an announcement may not be far away.
