Concept Sunday: What if HTC built the Google Nexus 6?

Google Nexus 6 by HTCGoogle has already confirmed that there will be a Nexus 6 later this year. While Google has revealed little else, we’ve already seen a concept that would be manufactured by Lenovo while rumours have suggested that LG could once again collaborate with Google to manufacture the next Nexus smartphone along with a Nexus smartwatch. But what if HTC, which is rumoured to be building a high-end Nexus tablet, built the Nexus 6? That’s what Greg Ives envisioned with the HTC Nexus (2014).

While HTC has opted for a plastic body for the Nexus device, the design aesthetic used with the HTC One and HTC One (M8) shines through on this design, especially in the back. The camera appears to sport two flashes, one on each side as well as could be a secondary camera above it, suggesting that HTC would bring its Duo camera to the Nexus line.

It also sports a refreshed interface with updated icons (something that Google appears to be planning with Project Hera). It all makes for a clean but distinctive design.

Based on this concept, would you be interested in seeing HTC build the next Nexus smartphone? Let us know below.

Thanks for the tip, Ben!
